Install Neural Companion

Begin with chat and speech in no-avatar mode. Once that works, add memory, visual replies, or one avatar runtime at a time.

Core requirements

Windows.
Python 3.11. The full runtime stack does not currently support Python 3.12 or newer.
FFmpeg installed on PATH or supplied through the installer tools.
A local or API chat provider.

Install and launch

Get the application from the official repository or releases page.
Run INSTALL_NEURAL_COMPANION.bat with Python 3.11 available.
Launch the installed application with run_neural_companion.bat.
Follow the first-run tutorial or test one chat provider with no avatar and one TTS backend.

MuseTalk requires an NVIDIA CUDA GPU. Other avatar modes have their own external runtime or plugin requirements.
